As Indonesian Ambassador to New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga. I have discovered more similarities and ties between Indonesia and the Pacific.

Pacific has long been acknowledged for its natural beauty, enchanting cultures, and friendly people, a world-class tourism destination. The region as a single tourism destination package will open an opportunity to shape Pacific image as the new tourism powerhouse. Geographically located between the Pacific and Indian ocean, Indonesia is a potential hub for products and goods from the Pacific to reach Southeast Asian market, and vice versa.

Indonesian Embassy in Wellington, NZ, presents ‘PACIFIC EXPOSITION 2019’.

Pacific Exposition is a trade, investment, and tourism event, designed to facilitate the South Pacific countries to promote their economic opportunities. This 3-day event is aimed at increasing business opportunities and developing networks for business communities, governments, and tourism authorities in the Pacific. The Exposition is also the first step towards connecting goods and people of the Pacific and Southeast Asia.

Culture helps people understand each other better. Arts festival has been considered as the best way to show and learn different values and experiences, connecting people from the Pacific and Southeast Asia, and capturing the harmony of both regions from a whole new perspective. The Embassy is therefore inviting all participating countries to showcase their cultural heritages in the Pacific Cultural Festival.

I am looking forward to your participation.

Tantowi Yahya Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to New Zealand, Samoa & Tonga

Strong Tourism

Powerhouse

With such vast untapped potentials, there is a growing need to promote what Pacific countries have to offer, in particular to their neighbouring regions. South East Asia as the closest neighbour. Being its closest neighbour, Southeast Asia holds potentials and challenges waiting to be unfold. Regional cooperation is needed to maximise national benefits, especially for improving connectivity, product development, and joint marketing as a single major brand in goods and tourism.

SKYCITY has hosted world class exhibitions and has long been recognised as one of Auckland’s premier venues for both local and international events.

Covering a staggering 5,000 m2 of convention space, SKYCITY can accommodate more than 2,000 visitors. The exhibition is designed to be the most comprehensive trade and cultural event in region with business representation from 19 countries. The mixture of business with pleasure in this event is targeting US$ 100 million in transactions. The exhibitors will get the optimum result from 25 booths, 4 dealing rooms and one big stage for every participating country to show their traditional art, music and dance.

Coping with today’s challenges, we all need modern solution. The best way to get it is to sit together in a forum interacting with key persons in their respected fields. That is the main reason that Pacific Exposition is ready to hold forum and seminar in three main area: trade & investment, tourism and culture. The forums are important element in the exhibition that gives added value and long-term
benefit to the region.

The sound of the ocean in all south Pacific countries has been the source of inspiration. The dance and music are much influenced by the rhythm of the wave and the breeze of the wind. During the 3-day exhibition, all participant will be able to perform their art and cultural heritage for all visitor to enjoy. It is aimed to maximize the ‘Pacific experience’ ensuring a successful business in Pacific by mixing business with pleasure.

To keep up the flow of visitor, there will be pop music stage featuring famous contemporary artists. They will entertain younger – and young-at-heart – audience free of charge. Through music and art, visitor will understand more about Pacific.
